Climbing Mount Rainier this Summer!
I’m thrilled to announce that I will be climbing Mount Rainier this summer! This has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and I can’t wait to make this dream a reality. I’m doing the Climb for Clean Air, which is a fundraiser to support the American Lung Association. My goal is to raise $5,000 before the climb in June. Any and all donations are appreciated :) You can donate HERE
My March Challenge
I’ve been loving my 2022 Strong Challenge over the last couple months, and I have no plans of stopping these daily habits anytime soon. This year I’m focusing on challenges that bring me joy. Something I’ve been enjoying a lot lately is the Wordle. It forces me to be creative and helps stimulate my mind. So I’m going to play every day this month! Anyone want to join me?
Baby Finn
Last month, my brother Isaac and his wife Taylar welcomed their new baby boy into the world. His name is Finnigan Lee Miller :) Cutest nephew ever? I think so
35th Anniversary
Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary to my incredible parents! Two of the most generous and hard-working people I know. Thank you for setting an example for everyone around you and teaching me to prioritize what matters most in life. Love you guys!
What NOT to do on a Hike
Last month, I planned to hike Summit Lake Trail near Mount Rainier. It was a 2-hour drive on a beautiful sunny day. The last 20 minutes of the trip were pretty snowy, but my all-wheel-drive was doing its thing. Then within a mile of the trailhead, my car got stuck in the snow. My tires were spinning, and I couldn’t get the car to move at all. In that moment, I realized that I hadn’t seen a single other car for the last 30+ minutes. I had zero cell service and less than a quarter tank of gas. Panic set in.
I spent the next hour unsuccessfully trying to dig my car out of the snow with a plastic cup. I got back in the car to take a break, said a prayer, and realized that I hadn’t told anyone where I was going. 2 minutes later, I saw a car coming down the mountain and felt an extreme sense of relief. His car also got stuck in the snow, but he came prepared with a shovel. We spent the next 30 minutes digging my car out, then I got the heck off that mountain!
I took these pictures on the drive back to civilization. Not quite the same view as I was hoping for at Summit Lake, but still pretty dang beautiful. Lessons Learned:
1. Always let someone know when you’re going somewhere without cell service
2. Check the Washington Trails Association website before going on a hike to read recent trip reports
3. Buy a shovel for your car if you’re planning on driving in the snow
New Personal Record
After almost 8 years as a licensed real estate agent, I set a new personal record in February for largest sales volume closed in a single day. There are a ton of ups and downs in the real estate industry, so I think it’s important to celebrate the wins along the way!
While achieving a new personal milestone felt great, what felt even better is knowing how thrilled my clients are for this milestone in their lives. I will never take for granted that people trust me to be part of this huge decision. One of my clients texted me: “Great to have you as a guide on the adventure.” My response: “I’ll be your adventure guide anytime!” (New job title perhaps?)
Theory's Coolest Listing Ever
Arguably my favorite project we’ve ever done at Theory: The Rosedale Farm! Also one of my favorite videos we’ve made in a while. We just went pending on this beautiful dream home in Gig Harbor!
Theory's Burning Questions
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing 2 STUDS who are doing some incredible things in Tacoma (and beyond). Ejay O'Donnell is the founder of the @tacoma_wa Instagram, and Kwabi is the founder of the Peace Bus. I walked away from both of these conversations feeling fired up and inspired. Check out the interviews below!
