Hiking to the top of a 15,695 foot volcano
I have officially been in South America for 1 month. A month filled with airports, taxis, new foods, new friends, waterfalls, volcanoes, sunburns, altitude sickness, homesickness, and feeling right at home.
In the past 2 weeks, we’ve truly made the most of every single day. We hiked to a beautiful lake in Papallacta, spent a day relaxing at natural hot springs in the mountains, took the TeléferiQo gondola for a beautiful view of Quito, hiked to the top of a 15,695 ft. volcano, rode bikes through the city during the “Ciclopaseo”, started volunteering at a nonprofit organization for underprivileged children, went to a church entirely in Spanish, shopped till we dropped in Otavalo, and endured almost 40 hours of classes.
Every day is an adventure, and I’m having the time of my life. Check out this video of my time so far in Ecuador. ¡Hasta Luego!
