Rome Sweet Rome

Day 4 in Italy. Breakfast: Cappuccino and a chocolate croissant. Midmorning snack: A fresh peach from the farmers market in Campo de Fiori. Lunch: Panini with prosciutto and mozzarella. Dinner: Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil, and chile peppers. Am I Italian yet?

Rome will never cease to amaze me. Millions of visitors pass through these streets every year, and now I understand why. Breathtaking sites lie around every single corner. The Colosseum, the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon. (And then there’s McDonalds…sticks out like a sore thumb.) There’s so much to see, so much to do, so much gelato to try.

After class today, I rushed to Roma Termini Station and caught a train to Venice. 4 hours later, I met my parents in the middle of the city that I’ve dreamed of since birth. I almost cried. We took an obscene number of pictures and rode a gondola to our hotel. (Yes the streets are actually water.)

I don’t go a day without feeling unbelievably grateful and blessed to have this opportunity. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store! Ciao.
