The Importance of Downtime
I talk a lot about the importance of working hard, hustling, and getting better every day. However, an extremely important ingredient to avoid getting burned out is DOWNTIME.
This summer, I’ve had the opportunity to travel quite a bit around Washington and even to Vegas for a weekend. Also this summer, I’ve been working my butt off to grow my business, and we’ve had some incredible growth this year. It’s possible to do both! And I think it’s crucial to do both.
Even if you love the work that you do (which I hope you do), it’s very easy to get burned out if you go 100 miles an hour 100% of the time without stopping. I’ve experienced burnout several times over the past couple years, and it is not a good feeling. All of your passion for what you’re doing goes out the window because you’re simply exhausted.
A great way to avoid getting burned out is downtime!
Downtime can come in all different shapes and forms, as long as it involves you taking a break from working. I personally think it’s super helpful to also disconnect from technology.
For me, I experience downtime when I’m hanging out with friends, reading a book, spending time by the water, and sleeping.
Whatever downtime looks like for you, make sure to incorporate it into your life so that you can continue crushing your goals and living the life of your dreams.
PEACE.
