Hitting 500,000 Steps in 1 Month

My Challenge for the month of August was to hit 500,000 Steps in 1 month. I hit my 500,000th step on August 31st at 9:30 PM. Just in the nick of time! I averaged 16,163 steps per day for the month of August. Lots of walks, runs, and hikes during this beautiful last full month of summer!

For this current month, I'm doing No Snooze September.  I'm trying to break my snooze button addiction this month, and I'm donating $100 to charity for every day that I snooze in September. I'm a little over halfway through the month, and I've snoozed 4 times so far. I'll let people vote for which charity to donate to at the end of the month!

The Enchantments

I woke up at 3:30 AM on the last Saturday in July to hike The Enchantments, a 22-mile trail through the Alpine Lakes Wilderness just outside of Leavenworth. Quite possibly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. I spent most of the day thinking “I can’t believe this is real.”

Highlights included seeing a bear and dozens of mountain goats, having zero reception all day, and talking about every topic imaginable with our awesome crew.

The nearly 5,000 feet of elevation gain was no joke, but it was 100% worth it. 10/10 would hike again!

SeaFair Triathlon

This was my 3rd year in a row doing the SeaFair Sprint Triathlon and my fastest time yet!

2022 - 2:18:51
2023 - 1:40:04
2024 - 1:38:55

SWIM - I haven’t been swimming at all lately, so my swim time was almost 5 minutes slower than last year. Felt good to be back in the water

BIKE - I wasn’t super stoked to get back on my bike for the first time since the STP the previous weekend, but managed to beat last year’s bike time by 52 seconds

RUN - I finished the 5k run 31 seconds faster than last year

TRANSITIONS - I shaved a whole 4 minutes off of my transition times. Every second counts!

I really did not want to do a triathlon when I woke up that morning, but feeling proud of myself for doing it anyway and setting a new PR!

Denver

Earlier this month, I got the chance to visit Denver for the first time and absolutely loved it. Amazing restaurants, beautiful parks, walkable neighborhoods, and close to the mountains.

Started off our Saturday with a 10-mile hike in Rocky Mountain National Park and ended the day at a Kygo concert that we spontaneously bought tickets for the day before. Rockies by day / Rockin’ by night

Island Palooza

Island Palooza 2024 was a success! One of my favorite days of the year for the 7th year in a row

Investing Summer Camp

I had an unbelievable weekend at the WAREI Summer Camp last month 4 days of inspiring speakers, real estate education, self reflection, big realizations, sound baths, breath work, meditation, sauna sessions, field games, whale watching, delicious meals, deep conversations, vulnerability, and camaraderie at this beautiful lodge in Anacortes

I signed up at the very last minute, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made all year. My biggest takeaway was to cut out every single negative habit and vice that doesn’t bring value, fulfillment, or joy to my life. Why continue doing things that I know consistently make me feel worse

Grateful for this opportunity and the 30 beautiful souls who made this weekend special

Heck of a Saturday

This past Saturday was a fun one! Started off the day with a 5k in Fremont, followed by a Diplo concert in Gas Works Park, then made my way Downtown for the Apple Cup #GoDawgs

Real Estate Stuff

Excited to present my brand new listing in West Seattle! Listing info HERE / Full video tour HERE!

Congrats Josh & Sinem on the purchase of your beautiful first home in Seattle!

Congrats to Hannah on the purchase of your first home!! Hannah and I studied abroad together in Ecuador back in 2016, and it was awesome reconnecting to find her charming condo in Renton just down the street from my place

Last month we celebrated Erik’s 5-year anniversary with Theory As a family business, finding other people who we can trust like family is invaluable. Over the last 5 years, Erik has been our CFO and has worn about a hundred others hats. Theory would not be the company we are today without Erik’s leadership, tenacity, and expertise. Fun fact - Erik and I are a year apart, but we were in the same class in 4th/5th grade (small school). Had no idea we’d be working and building businesses together 20 years later

The Podcast

Happy 1-Year Anniversary to us! We're coming up on episode 40 of the How Was Your Weekend podcast. Thank you to everyone who has tuned in over the last year to our conversations about life, relationships, parenting, monthly challenges, adventures, our sister pups, and of course - our weekends. Truly one of the highlights of our week, and we’d probably keep doing it even if nobody listened (but we appreciate every person who does!). Cheers to year 2!
