4th of July on the Amalfi Coast
4th of July! Best day of the trip so far. We were told that the best way to see the Amalfi Coast is on a boat, so we rented a private boat for the day. It picked us up at 10 AM, and we retuned around 6 PM.
The whole day feels surreal. Our captain took us to little grottos, where we all swam and some of us cliff-jumped. We took in the sights, jammed out to music, and lounged in the sun all day. We also stopped in a little town called Positano for lunch. The city is literally built into a hill. Again, pictures don’t do this place justice.
We got back to our rooms at about 6pm and rested a bit. Somehow we were all exhausted after a relaxing day on a boat. We got pizzas and wine to-go and walked down to the same beach from the night before. We sat on the rocks and watched the sunset. Perfect way to end a perfect day.
The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite days of the year. It was sad not being home to celebrate, but I couldn’t have asked for a better day in Italy.
