Going to the Doctor in Rome
Sunday and Monday consisted of studying, napping, and eating.
Tuesday, we visited the Villa Borghese, a mansion FILLED with incredible artwork. I’m usually not a huge fan of museums, but I could have stayed there for hours and stared at the ceiling. We went to a group dinner afterwards and then went to karaoke. It was my first time ever karaoke-ing, and it was a blast.
Today, I had class, then decided to get a haircut from an Italian barber. What have I been missing out on my whole life?! Cheapest, fastest, and best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Not one word of English was spoken.
My foot has been bothering me a lot lately, so I forced myself to go to the doctor today. I took a taxi to the doctor’s office, and he told me that I needed an x-ray. So I took another taxi to the nearby hospital, managed to communicate that I needed an x-ray (lots of pointing to my foot), then took a third taxi back to the doctor’s office. He proceeded to tell me that my foot is completely healed and that it has been hurting because all the muscle in my foot is gone. Time for some foot workouts. In summary, I paid 250+ Euros to be told that I’m completely okay, but at least now I know!
