Happy Monday and Happy Spring! As I'm writing this, I'm looking out the window at gray skies and drizzling rain. The 10-day weather forecast isn't super exciting, but it's nice to know that brighter days are ahead. April showers bring May flowers, right?

For the month of March, my challenge was to follow a healthy and balanced diet. This included cutting out sweets and junk food. Check out this video of everything I ate in a day. Overall, I ended every day feeling good about what I put into my body.

But I had the realization that life's too short to skip dessert every day. So my April challenge is a little different than my normal challenges... I'm eating dessert every day! I'm going to treat myself daily and also play around with some healthy dessert recipes. Come along with me to pick out my first treat of the month!

March Market Update

Well the market is officially bouncing back! After nearly 9 months of consistent price drops, increased days on market, and fewer homes sold, March was certainly a turning point for the Washington real estate market. Many economists predicted that we hit the bottom of the market in January, and it appears they may have been correct

For starters, we saw a significant jump in median sales price from February to March. Tacoma and King County both saw a $30k increase, which is the largest single-month increase in 2 years for Tacoma and 1 year for King County

Average days on market decreased by 8-11 days, so listings are selling in over a week faster than they have been the last few winter months. AND most listings are selling at or above list price after 7 months in a row of selling below list price. There were also more new listings and more closed sales in March than we've seen over the last 5-6 months

Despite higher interest rates, demand for listings remains strong. It will be interesting to see how the changing economy affects things, but at this point, it's shaping up to be a competitive Spring real estate market!
